Formula D: Wall, New Jersey

Sunday, September 10th, 2006

Well Slide America swung into New Jersey for some pro drifting action and catch up with everyone. Here is some stuff that went down.
ALSO, make sure you go check out the Slide America store
that just put up stickers for sale at $1!!!!!!!!!!! How can you go wrong with 2 stickers for $1!
Your only giving up one Jr. Cheeseburger.

The Slide America parking lot pre game party.

The man, the easter basket, the legend…..Andrew Hatley.

The Drift Alliance booth was rocking the hardest back on the east coast.

Bill Sherman ripped it up on the wall all weekend! He fell in the top 16 round to Vaughn Gittin in the Falken Tire Mustang.

One of the best battles from the weekend was Tyler Mcquarrie in the RSR Honda s2000 and Rob Fleming in the Enjuku Racing Nissan 240sx! They ripped it up twice and got called for a one more time. Tyler eventually was granted the victory.

The AEM Honda s2000 managed to get it’s rear bumper stuck inside the guardrail after an aggressive qualifying run that sucked it into the wall.

Hiro made the podium!!!!!!!!!!! After a tough year that started with a new car and then was pulled back by the title sponsor, Hiro nails redemption and brings home a taste of victory for Falken Tires.

Sam Hubinette scored another victory for Mopar/BF Goodrich. Since Rhys Millen broke in the first round of the Top 16, Sam took over the points lead and looks to be well on the way to a 2006 Championship.

Formula D Seattle: Monroe Speedway!

Saturday, September 2nd, 2006

We swung by Formula D Seattle to check out how all the pro’s were doing. We got to have a great interview with privateer Ryan “Hampshaaa” Tureck and also sat down with Vaughn Gittin who had a ton of great stuff to say about the Industry. What a weekend it ended up being for the Formula D history books. Ryan Sage and Jim Liaw also hopped in front of the camera to provide some great information on Drifting’s history in the United States. The weekend ended up being KILLER with the craziest Formula D finish to date.

Portland, OR: Tranqulity and Telephone Polls

Friday, September 1st, 2006

Portland was a blast. We got a home cooked dinner thanks to Mrs. Leveton. Once we got out to the streets in downtown the guys killed it! Sadly we had to leave the first spot early due to some car troubles. The second spot we went to was killer and the guys tore it up with some tandem action. Big thanks to the guys from UnNatural Inc. who totaled a 240sx and then kept on Drifting into the night. The night almost ended with us fighting bum’s outside the 711.
